What Motivates Moms to Register their Kids?

  

When you know what motivates your customers to purchase from you, it makes all your marketing efforts easier.  Your marketing messages can focus directly on those factors that are important to your audience and encourage them to act.  

We wanted to find out what motivates moms to sign their kids up for extracurricular activities so we asked. 

WHAT MOMS HAD TO SAY

Turns out there are a few things that really make all the difference when it comes to kids' activities.

The number one answer with 83% of moms responding, was the desire to nurture their child's current interests.  

That was closely followed with 80% of moms saying their desire to provide social opportunities outside of school and 78% of moms citing the desire to help their child develop new skills.

The fourth most popular answer with 70%, was the desire to help boost their child's self-esteem.  

Finally, the bottom three responses, all with less than 20%, were:

➡️ Catch up with peers
➡️ Get ahead/gain an advantage
➡️ Prepare for advanced opportunities (college, scholarship, etc)

HOW TO USE CUSTOMER MOTIVATIONS TO IMPROVE YOUR MARKETING

From these responses, it seems that moms are most concerned with supporting and nurturing their kids by giving them opportunities to further their interests, learn new things and meet new people.  It's less about competition or results.  

Of course, depending on your specific offer and industry, these results could be different.  But on the whole, when considering your marketing messages, you may want to focus on learning new things and socializing rather than getting ahead or gaining advantages.  

If you really want to take your marketing success to the next level, survey your own audience to find out what motivates their decisions to purchase your products or services.  

When you really understand what motivates your customers, that's when your marketing becomes easier and much more effective.
